Grove Clinic: Online therapy by qualified
psychiatrists
Visit website at http://www.groveclinic.com
Brief:
Created by two qualified psychiatrists, the Grove Clinic aims to
provide access to confidential counselling online via secure email
and online chat. The company needed a brand that could be used primarily
for web based media plus standard print and more importantly a website
that would provide the online service simply and securely.
Solution:
Our work started with an initial briefing: to understand the objectives
of the client, their target audience, the type of features and functions
that the site would require and to propose the best methods for
achieving these. We then worked concurrently on visual design for
branding and a full project specification for the website.
With a project plan in writing we started
work on visual design for the website: the visuals below show the
first three ideas presented:

Once visual design is agreed; site development begins. We usually
provide working pages (without functionality) of complex areas for
discussion with the client. For example, there were several ways
we could create a calendar layout: usability, standard acceptance
as well as client preference are all taken into account with the
final solution.
Throughout development, the site is tested for functionality and
usability: e-commerce areas are given ‘test’ status
so that complete credit-card transactions can take place using dummy
data.
The finished site included:
- Secure web-based email ‘question and answer’ system
- Online calendar with appointment booking
- Content managed ‘news and article’ area
- Secure admin area where the psychiatrists’ answer the
questions that are submitted by visitors, add time to their booking
schedule and add and edit news articles.

The Grove Clinic provide a secure and confidential
conselling service. (Left) Visitors can ask submit questions through
the secure web based email system and (right) visitors use an intuative
online calendar to book chat sessions.
