New Year resolutions, web standards and what’s in store for 04!
No, we haven’t agreed to stop drinking, lose 60lbs, or ‘get that new job’ – Starting in January we’re taking steps to achieve new levels of web compliance. In short, our websites will work better across platforms (PDA’s, those handy web-browsing phones, appliances for the disabled including screen readers and mouse-less navigators), and keep working with each new release of each browser.

Although standards have been in development for a long time, it is only recently that the majority of browser manufacturers are complying with these. We now feel confident that developing sites adhering to these standards can bring benefits not only to ourselves but to our customers. We’ll keep you informed over the coming months of the changes we’ve been making and the benefits they have brought to you!

E-commerce award finalist: CBN website makes final 7 of UK Ecommerce Awards
We were pleased to attend the UK Online for Business Ecommerce awards this month for our work on the CBN website. The CBN reached the final seven of the Eastern Region finals out of over 2000 entries. Entered in the ‘Voluntary Groups and Charity’ section, the judges looked at the way small groups had utilized the web to benefit their members and their volunteers.

Speckled Frog planned, designed and developed the new website which offers online membership and event booking as well as providing volunteer administrators with easy to use event and member management. Take a look at www.cbn.org.uk
